about semantics.

HI my friends
how are you.To day I want to give you exercice about semantic which means:the study of meaning in language.Below is a well-known passage from LEWIS CARROLL's through the looking glass.Pick out all the instances of the word mean(or means or meant),after the passage there are some qustions for you to answer.
1-"...that shows that ther are three hundred and sixty four days when you might get un-birthday presents."
certainly said alic.
4-"and only one for birthday presents, you know.there's glory for you"
"I don'tknow what you mean by glory,"Alic said.
Humpty dumpty smiled contemptuously."of cours you don't-tillItellyou.Imeant ther'sanice knockdown argument for you."
9- But glory dosn't mean a nice knockdown argument,Alice objected.
When I USE WORD "HUMPTY DUMPTY said in rather a cornful tone, it means just what I choose it to mean-neither mor nor less."
the question is,"saidAlice, whether you can make words mean so many different things."
14-the question is,"said humpty dumpty, which is to be master that's all.
quetions:
1:what word is the subjectof the verb mean in line 05?
2:what is the subject of the verb mean in lin08?
3:what is understood as the subject of the verb mean in line11?.
